Fire Oven Outdoor Kitchen Installation
Learn how to install the Emberhaus Fire Oven into your outdoor kitchen with exact dimensions, material tips, airflow requirements, and pro advice.

Designing your dream outdoor kitchen? If you're integrating an Emberhaus Fire Oven into your setup, getting the installation specs right is crucial—not just for performance, but for aesthetics and safety. In this guide, we break down exactly how to prepare your countertop and cabinetry for a seamless Fire Oven outdoor kitchen installation.

Why Precision Matters in Fire Oven Installation
Unlike a freestanding grill, the Emberhaus Fire Oven is engineered to integrate seamlessly into your outdoor kitchen. It can be placed directly on a countertop for a clean, architectural presentation, but it is designed primarily as a drop-in unit—partially recessed into cabinetry to achieve a refined, built-in look that mirrors the sophistication of indoor appliances.

Fire Oven Countertop Template
| Key | Dimension | Minimum | Maximum | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
W | Primary Cutout Width | 30.5" | 34" | 30.5” achieves a tight, flush visual fit. |
H | Primary Cutout Height | 6.8" | 7" | 6.8” aligns countertop with top of oven base. |
D | Primary Cutout Depth | 24" | 25" | 24” achieves a tight, flush visual fit. |
C | Countertop Height | 36” | 36” | Standard countertop height |
Choosing Your Installation Dimensions
The 6.8" inset height is designed to align the oven’s base flush with your countertop surface, delivering a clean, built-in look. Final cutout dimensions may be adjusted slightly to suit site conditions, provided minimum clearances are maintained. For engineering drawings and CAD files, please request using the button below.

Installation Considerations
Clearance, placement & support
The Fire Oven stands approximately 31 inches tall and should be installed with proper clearances and structural support to ensure safe operation and optimal performance.
• The countertop, cabinet, or table supporting the oven should be securely fixed and stable, whether anchored to the ground or built into an outdoor kitchen structure.
• The supporting surface and surrounding construction should be made from non-combustible materials, which is standard practice for premium charcoal and live-fire grills.
Overhead / Vertical Clearance & Ventilation
In an open-air installation, there are no special overhead clearance requirements beyond what’s typical for a premium charcoal grill. If the space is covered, we generally recommend allowing 24–32 inches of vertical clearance above the oven, similar to kamado-style installations (such as Big Green Egg or Kamado Joe).
The oven should not be installed under or directly beneath any combustible structure. For covered outdoor kitchens, the overhead structure should be non-combustible, and while mechanical ventilation is not required, we strongly recommend incorporating ventilation above the unit (such as a vent hood or open airflow) as a best practice for smoke management and overall comfort.
These guidelines are consistent with standard clearances and construction methods used for high-end charcoal and live-fire grills.
Materials
Use non-combustible materials like stainless steel, concrete, or stone near the cavity.
Support Weight
At nearly 400 lbs, the oven requires solid structural support below. Reinforce cabinetry as needed to prevent sagging or warping.
Final Thoughts
A fire oven outdoor kitchen installation isn’t just about fitting a box into a hole—it’s about elevating your space with purpose-built design. Whether you're working with a contractor or DIYing your build, following the right specs ensures your Emberhaus Fire Oven delivers the performance—and presence—it was built for.
